Tré Dunbar

President

I am honored that the FHLA members have chosen me to lead FHLA as President for a second term. I am truly humbled by the members I meet and their stories of challenges and triumphs. As a member of FHLA the last three years, I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to network and meet so many fellow members. The coming year will prove to be nothing short of phenomenal for the members of FHLA. As a former leader in other national student organizations, my skills as an effective communicator and team player have greatly developed. My aspiration is to use those skills to lead our organization to further success in the coming year.

Anne's Resume

Hi, my name is Anne Yurek, I moved down to Florida from Chicago three years ago to participate in the Disney College Program. While in Florida, I developed my true passion for the hospitality industry. Currently, I am finishing AS Degree in Hospitality/Tourism Management at Valencia College, and my goal is to continue my education at University of Central Florida's Rosen School of Hospitality.

Presently, I am the Vice President of Development for Future Hospitality Leaders of America at Valencia College. I work very closely with my fellow students and professors to promote our program in the Orlando area. I was previously Treasurer of the club and was voted to be Vice President by my fellow students.  The other officers and I organize student volunteers for various events in the local hospitality industry. Examples of recent events include: A Taste of Doctor Phillips, The Downtown Food and Wine Fest, and Wine and Dine on 9 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Working at these events, our students are able to gain valuable experience in the industry as well as begin to network themselves with local professionals and hospitality leaders.

When I earn my Bachelor's degree from Rosen, I hope to enter the industry as a well-rounded, experienced professional. My goal is to work in marketing in the hotel or restaurant industry.

Officer's Resume

This office is currently vacant.

Carla Predelus

Vice President of Finance

I was born and raised in Florida. I have three children - including a set of twins. I am also a widow. What made me interested in hospitality, is that, when I was a young teenager my family did not have any parties, vacations and not a lot of going out to eat at restaurants; this drew me closer into the hospitality field.

I have had extensive experience working in the industry for companies such as Krystal’s, Denny’s, Pizza Hut, Steak’n Shake, and the Amway Arena (formerly known as Orlando Arena) and so many other hospitality fields.

I am a member of CHLA, NEWH, NWAACP, Student Volunteer, OCCV (Orange County Correction Volunteer. I have been a student here at Valencia College since 2011; I plan to graduate in 2014. I am a double major, Baking and Pastry Management, and Hospitality and Tourism Management. My ambition is to become an Event Manager and open up my own dessert bar and more. The sky is the limit.

I adore hospitality, and I plan on staying in this industry and leaving behind my legacy.

Christine's Resume

My name is Christine Ripoll. I was born and raised in Miami Florida. Before moving to Orlando I worked for the YMCA of greater Miami for about four years. While working for the YMCA one of the many responsibilities that I was in charge of was helping organize the many parties, dances, and performances that we held every year. After leaving the YMCA is when I realized I wanted to go to school for event planning I really enjoy the creative side to events. For my career I would love to get into be events such as festivals or movie premieres where they go all out and the parties that they have feels like your stepping into the movie. Last year I was a part of the Joint Leadership Committee where I helped with the Leadership Awards which was tons of fun to help plan and organize. During the summer I was named the Executive Chair of the Joint Leadership Committee during that time with working with the executive board they realized they wanted a change this year making sure we get our programs out there and trying to start up new programs one is to get out to high schools and talk about the hospitality industry. With all these changes and the idea that this year we want FHLA to leave a great legacy for future board member and volunteers the executive board has given me a chance to have a more permanent position and role in FHLA, so my new title is Vice President in programs. I will be responsible in keeping update on all our programs from the Aspire Points rewards program, Membership Campaign, Joint leadership committee, and the Inspire Leadership program. So if any of the member have question about these programs I am here to here to help explain and answer those questions.

Juliana Do Rosario

Vice President of Events

My name is Juliana Do Rosario. I was born and raised in Maracaibo, Venezuela but my family is from Macau, Portugal, which now belongs to China. I’ve studied in an international school, Escuela Bella Vista, in Venezuela since age three. This has been by far the most influencing experience because I was able to interact with different cultures and languages from a very young age. It is because of this interaction I am the person I am today.

I am majoring in Hospitality and Tourism. I aspire to acquire a position in this industry related to event planning, hotel management, and/or restaurant management. My academic goal is to graduate from Valencia College with high honors and attend UCF’s Rosen College shortly after.

As officer of Event Coordinator, I intend to give our group members more insight on our events. Resulting with the use of social media and email subscriptions. As for our volunteering events, my goal is to give short descriptions on the different types of tasks we will be asked to do. Since I will be the go-to person of our events for all our members, I plan on being as helpful and effective as possible regarding organization, attendance and outreach.

I currently work as a Student Leader in the Student Development office in Valencia College - East Campus. This position has become very dear to me because it was helped me develop my passion for hospitality even more! I have been able to organize and carryout event such as our Spirit Day, Mardi Gras, and our Annual Awards Ceremony. I’ve had experience in the field since age thirteen by helping my parents out in their business. As a final challenge, before going off to college, my parents decided to make me their manager for their pizza parlor business to test my ability to manage my time and quality of work.

My goal in the future is to own my restaurant – lounge as well as an event planning agency. These businesses will be hopefully located in the United States and Venezuela.
